Genggong

Genggong is vibrating musical instrument made ​​of bamboo rope. This instrument is known in some regions in Indonesia, including Bali, Java, North Sumatra, and possibly in other areas. Genggong name known in the area of ​​Bali, while in West Java, or the Sundanese people call it by Karinding. There are no valid studies of the areas where the actual origin genggong.

Musicians Sawung Jabo join this genggong introduce musical instruments, namely by establishing a music group Genggong. Genggong Group is quite unique, because its personnel are made ​​up of several different players and different ethnic state.

Jabo Sawong itself comes from Indonesia, despite living in Australia. Then the other personnel is Reza Achman (drums, percussion, drum Batak, and vocals), Kim Sanders of mixed blood of Turkey-Bulgaria (bagpipes, flute, saxophone), Ron Reeves (drums Sunda, Aboriginal brass, vocal, and percussion), and do not miss Monica Willy (Mask dancer and vocals).

The uniqueness of this Genggong Group is trying to integrate its eastern pentatonic music with western musical elements of tone diatonic.
